About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Tactical Patrol in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government transit location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with professionalism and calm communication. You will support riders and staff with customer service, document observations, and work closely with teammates while living Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, caring for people, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience OR a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct armed patrols on foot and/or in a vehicle throughout stations, platforms, parking areas, administrative spaces, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, medical calls, alarms, suspicious activity, and/or prohibited items, and request public agency support when needed.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity, monitor CCTV and/or access points as assigned, and assist with access control, screening, and credential checks when directed.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and statements, preserve observations and evidence as directed, and follow Allied Universal and site post orders for armed equipment handling, storage, and documentation.
