As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication and strong customer service. This role requires an armed guard card/license and offers a chance to bring Allied Universal values to life by being agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, and committed to integrity through teamwork.

Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Have 6 months or more of armed security/law enforcement/military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs/pepper spray/baton is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and security-related procedures at a government facility, including supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Maintain a visible armed presence and assist with access control by screening visitors, staff, and deliveries using approved screening methods and equipment, and/or verifying credentials and authorizations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications and actions per site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, parking areas, and perimeter routes, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Document patrols, screening activity, incidents, and unusual conditions in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
