Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Site Patrol in Kansas City, MO , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a museum location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, professional communication. You will support visitors, staff, and collections through routine rounds, access control support, and timely reporting. This post requires an armed guard card/license and a commitment to integrity, teamwork, and a people-first culture.
Requirements
- An Armed Guard Card/License is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- A Guard Card/License is preferred.
- Handcuffs/Pepper Spray/Baton is preferred.
- Handcuffing Certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout galleries, public areas, offices, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and exhibit areas, verifying credentials where required and assisting with visitor flow, after-hours access, and/or special events.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarm activations, disturbances, medical events, and/or suspicious activity, and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
- Complete required reports and logs, document incidents and unusual conditions, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or public responders per established procedures.
