As an Armed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols and inspections, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and service requests with calm, clear communication. You will document observations, coordinate with site personnel and/or responders as needed, and provide a welcoming customer service presence. Requirements

  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Perform armed patrol duties at power generation and/or distribution facilities, including regular and random patrols of buildings, yards, vehicle routes, and perimeter lines to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, suspicious activity, and/or critical incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and public responders as needed.
  • Control access at gates and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, managing visitor and contractor entry, inspecting vehicles and deliveries as required by post orders, and documenting entries and exits.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation, and communicate observations and/or hazards to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
