About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed School Patrol in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will interact with staff, students, and visitors, providing excellent customer service and communication. Requirements

Have at least 5 years of security-related experience.
Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
Have a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
Have supervisory experience.
Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or at least 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience or at least 3 years of security-related experience.
Have a valid armed guard card or license.
Have at least 6 months of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience or possess a college degree.
Have a valid corrections officer license.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational environment.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the campus and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential security-related concerns.
Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain awareness of activity on the premises.
Communicate and coordinate with school personnel and local authorities as needed during incidents or emergencies.
Document and report any unusual observations, incidents, or security-related issues encountered during patrols or while on post.
Maintain a professional presence and interact respectfully with all individuals within the location to promote a welcoming environment.
