About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Rover Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a busy retail location, where you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist shoppers and team members with clear, professional communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and an armed certification. Bring integrity, teamwork, and a people-first mindset to every shift in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Hold a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests, associates, and management by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Carry and maintain assigned duty weapon and related equipment in compliance with state and local laws, Allied Universal guidelines, and post orders, including completing required training and documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, medical events, suspicious activity, and requests for assistance from store personnel.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the sales floor, receiving areas, offices, and exterior perimeter including parking lots and cart corrals, reporting hazards and/or unusual activity per post orders.
• Assist with access control and loss prevention support by monitoring entrances and exits, addressing trespassing and/or disruptive behavior, and coordinating with local law enforcement when needed.
