About The Position

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and public law enforcement as needed.
  • Control access at designated posts by monitoring entry points, checking identification and/or credentials, and directing visitors to appropriate locations in accordance with site procedures.
  • Carry and handle authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements, including firearms and related gear, while completing required training, reporting, and documentation.
