As an Armed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and service calls with clear communication. This post requires an armed guard card/license. Requirements

  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Minnesota Armed Security Guard License
  • Minimum 2 plus years of Security experience Or prior Law Enforcement or Military experience required
  • Have at least 2+ years' law enforcement/military police/corrections experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and public responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, parking areas, access roads, and perimeter fencing, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity.
  • Control access to restricted areas by verifying identification, authorizations, and deliveries, and maintaining accurate security-related logs and/or reports.
  • Operate security-related equipment such as radios, access control systems, and video monitoring tools, and report maintenance issues and/or hazards through the proper channels.
