About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Unit in Ashburn, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer in a government location supporting a public education campus setting. In this role, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and interact with students, staff, and visitors through professional communication and customer service. Requirements

• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Baton certification is preferred.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and/or critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting details through appropriate channels.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, athletic spaces, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, unsecured areas, and/or prohibited items in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with traffic and arrival or dismissal activity, support school-related events as assigned, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel during routine operations and emergency situations.
