As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support a professional environment through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local authorities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help identify unusual activity and/or potential policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials, permits, and/or authorizations for entry, while following post orders and escalation protocols for restricted or controlled areas.
  • Prepare detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and/or irregularities, and support Allied Universal leadership and site management with timely communication regarding security-related concerns.
