Security Officer - Armed Patrol Unit
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Unit in Charlotte, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a financial institution location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with calm professionalism. You will control access, assist team members and visitors with clear communication, and document observations accurately. Requirements
- Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement and/or military and/or security experience or a college degree.
- Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
- Be at least 21+ years of age.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques and requesting law enforcement and/or medical assistance when needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas and the perimeter, including monitoring ATM and cash handling areas, checking doors and access points, and documenting irregularities.
- Monitor access control and visitor management processes, verify identification and authorization where required, and help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity.
- Complete thorough incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation, and follow Allied Universal post orders, licensing requirements, and firearm handling protocols.
