As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Unit in Hoffman, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government corrections location, you will conduct mobile and foot patrols, maintain a highly visible presence, and respond to incidents with clear communication and professionalism. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and an armed post. Bring agility, reliability, and integrity as you support a people-first culture and work as part of a team to help reduce security-related risks.

Requirements

  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Perform armed patrol duties on foot and/or by vehicle, conducting regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, perimeter fencing, parking areas, and access points as assigned.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting staff with de-escalation, coordinating response, and requesting additional resources when needed.
  • Monitor and control access by screening visitors, verifying identification and/or authorization, logging entries and exits, and supporting controlled movement of personnel and contractors.
  • Complete timely reports and required documentation, communicate key observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision, and support investigations by preserving information and reporting hazards or suspicious activity.
