Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer in a government transit location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with professionalism and care. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
  • Have 3 or more years of experience as military police, a corrections officer, or armed security-related personnel, or be a certified law enforcement graduate.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to the public, visitors, and personnel by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at a government transit location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and supporting appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout transit platforms, stations, parking areas, administrative spaces, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and public-facing spaces while verifying credentials, screening for unauthorized access, and supporting security-related procedures.
  • Carry assigned firearm and other duty equipment in accordance with post orders and Allied Universal policies, while maintaining a professional presence and communicating with local authorities and/or site contacts as needed.
