As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a retail environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure atmosphere for customers and staff. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and delivering outstanding customer service. You will be part of a team that values agility, reliability, and innovation while acting with integrity and putting people first.

Requirements

  • Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, addressing issues as they arise within the retail location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail premises and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of security-related activities, incidents, and observations during assigned shifts.
  • Work collaboratively with store staff and other Allied Universal personnel to address security-related concerns and support a welcoming environment for customers and employees.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to evolving situations, utilizing appropriate judgment and communication skills while on patrol.
  • Carry and maintain proficiency with assigned firearm in accordance with Allied Universal policies and applicable laws.
