Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Richmond, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and provide a reassuring presence. This position requires both armed and driving responsibilities. Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
At least one year of security-related experience is required.
An armed guard card or license is required.
Proof of a high school diploma or equivalent is required by the client.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor and control access to the premises, checking identification and authorization as required.
Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential security-related issues.
Complete detailed and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs as required by Allied Universal policies.
Work closely with law enforcement and emergency response personnel when necessary.
Handle security-related equipment responsibly and maintain awareness of surroundings while on patrol.
Follow all protocols for armed security-related posts, maintaining proper handling and storage of assigned weapon at all times.
