About The Position

As a Security Officer – Armed Patrol Officer in Austin, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail and mall locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment for all visitors. Your visible presence and customer-focused approach will support a welcoming atmosphere while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and caring. This is an armed post, and you will play a vital role in delivering reliable and innovative security-related services.

Requirements

Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a Level III armed certification for Texas roles only.
An armed guard card or license is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
Carry out armed patrols throughout the retail or mall location, including both regular and random checks of the premises and surrounding perimeter.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including emergencies as required by site protocols.
Assist in helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior within the location by maintaining a visible presence.
Document and report observations, incidents, and any unusual activities according to Allied Universal policies and procedures.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed for incidents at the location.
Support access control by monitoring entry and exit points and verifying credentials as necessary.
Provide guidance and assistance to visitors and staff regarding security-related matters and site navigation.
