This role is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Carry and maintain issued firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws, using sound judgment and a professional demeanor.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with on-site staff and/or law enforcement as required.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity that may help to deter incidents.
  • Control access at designated points, verify identification and/or authorization, monitor doors and gates, and complete detailed security-related reports, logs, and incident documentation.
