About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Asheville, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document activity, and communicate professionally with staff and visitors while delivering strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. At Allied Universal, you will succeed through teamwork, integrity, and a caring, agile approach.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site staff, visitors, and contractors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership and local law enforcement and other public partners as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or authorization, control vehicle and pedestrian entry, and document all entries, exits, and unusual activity per post orders.
  • Complete detailed written and electronic reports, maintain required logs, and follow all applicable use of force, firearms handling, and post order requirements.
