As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and respond to incidents with calm professionalism. You will help to support patients, visitors, and staff through strong communication, accurate reporting, and customer-focused service. This is a driving post and requires an armed guard card or license, bringing agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every shift.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to hospital staff, patients, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Perform armed patrol duties throughout assigned buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes, including regular and random patrols to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and coordinating with clinical teams and/or local law enforcement as needed.
  • Monitor access points and conduct security-related screening and/or checks as directed, verifying identification, controlling entry to restricted areas, and assisting with visitor guidance and wayfinding.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations in written reports and electronic systems, and communicate status updates to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
