As a Security Officer Armed Metro Patrol Driver in Homestead, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed officer in a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. Working with a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, you will put people first and act with integrity while supporting daily operations.

Requirements

  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor activity, and/or restricted area entry in accordance with site protocols and applicable post orders.
  • Support government facility operations by reporting hazards, suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations, and following established escalation procedures.
