As an Armed Patrol Security Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and respond to security-related concerns with calm, professional customer service. This is an armed driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and an armed guard card or license. You will support a caring culture that puts people first, delivering through teamwork with integrity while staying agile, reliable, and innovative.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • An Armed Guard Card and/or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma and/or GED is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control, and security-related checks, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with campus officials and/or public law enforcement as directed by post orders.
  • Monitor assigned areas for unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns, and communicate observations to appropriate site contacts following established escalation procedures.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and/or evidence documentation, and maintain control of issued equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
