About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Patrol in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy healthcare location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for assistance. You will provide calm customer service to staff, patients, and visitors, document activities, and communicate clearly with site leadership. This post requires a valid driver’s license and an armed guard card, supported by a caring, integrity-driven team.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Have at least 1+ years' armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and coordination with site leadership and/or local law enforcement as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential hazards or policy violations.
  • Control access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, monitoring visitor flow, and assisting with screening procedures as required by site policy.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift activity logs, and other documentation; maintain required armed post equipment and follow all licensing, training, and use-of-force guidelines.
