About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver Overnights in Miami, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Provide a DD214 with honorable discharge OR an associates degree or 60 college credits OR a police academy certificate OR a corrections academy certificate.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas and perimeter routes, noting unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas by verifying identification and/or credentials, controlling entry, and directing guests to appropriate locations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting law enforcement and/or medical support as needed, and preserving the scene for follow-up.
  • Carry and handle issued firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site policy, complete required post logs and incident reports, and communicate updates to supervision and/or dispatch.
