Requirements

Possess an armed guard card or license.
Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
Be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verify credentials and/or permissions, and help to enforce post orders, location rules, and applicable government facility protocols.
Support emergency and law enforcement response efforts by maintaining situational awareness, communicating clearly by radio and/or phone, and following Allied Universal procedures for armed posts.
