As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms, access concerns, and student and staff needs. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site contacts and local partners, and deliver a caring, people-first experience through teamwork, reliability, agility, innovation, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, students, and visitors at an educational location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Perform armed post duties in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal policies, including proper handling and control of assigned firearm and equipment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, disturbances, and campus emergency notifications.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Document patrol observations, incidents, and security-related activities in reports and/or logs, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and responding public services as needed.
