As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering a customer-first experience. Requirements

  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • A pepper spray certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at a government location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and post orders, including appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, checking for unusual conditions and/or policy violations, and reporting observations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; de-escalate confrontations when possible and request law enforcement and/or medical support as needed.
  • Control access points by verifying identification and/or authorization, monitoring visitor and vehicle entry, and maintaining sign-in logs and other required documentation.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation such as incident reports and activity logs, and carry and handle issued equipment and firearm in accordance with Allied Universal policies and all applicable laws and training requirements.
