As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare setting, you will conduct regular patrols and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents while providing a welcoming presence for staff, patients, and visitors. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Act 235 Qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and assist with controlling the flow of individuals entering or exiting the location.
  • Document observations, incidents, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal’s standards and client requirements.
  • Assist medical staff and visitors as needed while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergency situations or alarms in accordance with site protocols.
  • Carry and maintain proficiency with assigned firearms and/or other defensive tools as required by the post profile and local regulations.
