About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrols Full-Time in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. You will remain highly visible while providing exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

An armed guard card or license is required.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
CPR and/or first aid certification is preferred.
Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor for suspicious activity and report any security-related concerns to the appropriate authorities or Allied Universal management.
Assist with access control by verifying credentials and managing entry points as required by site protocols.
Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations while on duty.
Support emergency response efforts as needed, following established protocols and procedures for government locations.
