About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and interact with visitors and staff to provide outstanding customer service. Requirements

Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
Possess an armed guard card or license.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and observe for any suspicious behavior or potential hazards.
Monitor access points and verify identification as required by site-specific protocols.
Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or irregularities according to established procedures.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when necessary, following communication protocols.
Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned area to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment for all individuals on site.
