About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Front Desk in Council Bluffs, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Requirements

  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at the front desk by following site-specific procedures, greeting employees, contractors, and visitors, and assisting with entry requirements for a utilities location.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or credentials, issue visitor passes when appropriate, and document arrivals, departures, and deliveries in required logs.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Answer phones, manage inquiries, and support front desk operations by directing visitors, maintaining accurate records, and reporting unusual activity or security-related concerns.
  • Observe lobby and reception areas for unusual activity, help to deter unauthorized access, and follow established emergency response activities when appropriate.
