About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Entry Control in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. Requirements

  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience is required, or a college degree is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable use of a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following site-specific procedures, monitoring entry and exit activity, and supporting access control operations at a transportation location.
  • Verify credentials, screen visitors, contractors, and deliveries, and document authorized access in accordance with post orders and security-related policies.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Prepare clear reports of daily activity, incidents, and access control exceptions, and report maintenance concerns, suspicious behavior, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
