About The Position

As a Security Officer Entry Control in East Chicago, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location, where you will help manage access control, monitor entry activity, and support security-related operations with professionalism and care. In this role, you will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and deliver strong customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, checking credentials, and following location policies for entry and exit at a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Monitor entrances, gates, and/or designated access points, document visitor and vendor activity, and report unusual or unauthorized activity to site contacts in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations by following post orders, communicating with appropriate personnel, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including production-adjacent areas, shipping and receiving zones, parking areas, and perimeter access points, as permitted by site policy.
  • Complete required logs, incident reports, and other security-related documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access by maintaining awareness of site traffic, deliveries, and restricted areas.
