You will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, control access as needed, and respond to alarms and calls for assistance with calm, clear communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site staff and/or local responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, housing areas, sally ports, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, authorizations, and visitor logs, and by screening incoming deliveries and/or vehicles in accordance with post orders.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift activity logs, and other required documentation, and communicate noteworthy conditions to site leadership during shift turnovers.
