As an Armed Patrol Officer at a transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols and vehicle-based rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm, clear communication. This is an armed and driving post, requiring an armed guard card and a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy requirements. Requirements

  • Have 2+ years' law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a transportation facility.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership and first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, rail operations areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazardous conditions.
  • Control access at gates and designated entry points by verifying identification, checking credentials, monitoring vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and directing visitors and/or contractors according to location procedures.
  • Complete daily activity logs and incident reports with accurate details, and communicate significant events to supervisors and/or client representatives in a timely manner.
