As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and provide clear communication and customer service. This is an armed post requiring an armed guard card or license, and a driving role requiring a valid driver’s license that meets AU driver policy requirements. You will bring agility, teamwork, and integrity to every shift.

Requirements

  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following post orders, site-specific policies, access control procedures, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government correctional location.
  • Conduct armed, uniformed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas on a regular and random basis to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, scene management, and requesting additional resources as needed.
  • Monitor and operate security-related systems and equipment such as radios, cameras, and alarms, and complete required logs and reports per Allied Universal and site guidelines.
  • Support controlled movement operations by verifying credentials, screening for prohibited items per site policy, maintaining key and equipment accountability, and reporting unusual activity through the chain of command.
