Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Patrol in Lillington, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm, clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU driver policy requirements. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, housing areas, posts, and perimeter areas, with working environments and conditions that may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and authorization, and help to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited items in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, alarms, medical situations, and/or calls for assistance; coordinate with site personnel and responding agencies as directed.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift briefings and post turnover.
