About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Patrol in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols and vehicle rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and provide clear communication and customer service to employees and visitors. This is a driving post and requires an armed guard card or license and a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and/or visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of utility facilities, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards, irregularities, and maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and security-related systems such as gates, alarms, and/or video surveillance; verify credentials and follow visitor and vehicle processing procedures as required by the location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; coordinate with site personnel and public emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Complete timely written reports and activity logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or client representatives per escalation guidelines.
