About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Patrol in Raleigh, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. This is an armed post requiring an Armed Guard Card or License and a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license meeting AU Driver Policy Requirements. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership and local public resources as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned areas, including interior and exterior perimeters, to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification and authorization, monitoring entries and exits, and documenting visitor and contractor activity per site requirements.
  • Complete timely reports and required logs, including incident documentation, patrol observations, and equipment checks, using post orders and Allied Universal guidelines.
