About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Community Driver Patrol in Lumberton, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, with opportunities to support a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and guided by integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with on-site staff and/or local responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned areas, including interior zones and perimeter lines, observing for unusual activity and reporting concerns per post orders.
  • Control access through designated checkpoints by verifying identification, logging entries and/or exits, and screening items as directed by site procedures.
  • Complete accurate shift documentation such as activity logs, incident reports, and chain-of-custody records when required, and maintain assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site guidelines.
