You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms, access concerns, and emergencies with calm, professional communication. You will document observations, coordinate with site leadership and local partners as needed, and deliver service with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first mindset.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors at a government corrections location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas on a regular and random basis, observing for unusual conditions and reporting concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and law enforcement and/or medical resources as needed.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification and authorization, monitoring alarms and surveillance systems, and documenting entries, exits, and contraband-related observations.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports, maintain required armed post qualifications, and follow all Allied Universal and site policies regarding equipment, communications, and use of force guidelines.
