As an Armed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will conduct routine patrols on foot and by bike, maintaining a strong presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, support campus events, and provide clear communication and customer service to students, staff, and visitors. This is an armed, driving-required post where Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, and integrity-led teamwork makes a difference every shift.

Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be able to ride a bike.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to alarms, calls for service, and critical incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with campus partners and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Monitor access control points and validate identification and/or authorization for entry, assist with visitor direction, and support orderly movement during high-traffic periods and special events.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and corrective actions in written reports and logs, and preserve observations and/or available video information for follow-up.
