Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a California Weapons Permit with 9mm caliber endorsement.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, verifying credentials, processing visitors, and supporting security-related policies for a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, review badges and visitor logs, and help to deter unauthorized access to offices, restricted areas, and other designated spaces.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate clearly with site contacts, employees, guests, and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured access points, and other security-related concerns.
  • Prepare clear reports of daily activities, access-related issues, and incident details, and report maintenance concerns, policy violations, and/or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.
