About The Position

As a Armed Security Officer - Access Control in Elko, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
A guard card and/or license is preferred.
An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and public-facing spaces while following post orders, verifying authorized access, and assisting staff and visitors with security-related questions.
Support emergency protocols by contacting appropriate personnel, coordinating with local authorities when needed, and helping maintain order during alarms, evacuations, and/or other urgent events.
