About The Position

As a Security Officer - Apartment Rover in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a residential location, you will complete routine foot patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to resident concerns with calm, professional communication. Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance issues.
  • Monitor access points and observe visitor movement, reporting suspicious or unusual activity according to post orders and escalation procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, contacting onsite management and/or emergency services, and documenting actions taken.
  • Complete timely reports and logs, including incident reports, patrol activity, and shift turnover communication, using required paper and/or electronic systems.
