Security Officer - Alarm Panel Rounds
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Alarm Panel Rounds in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will interact professionally with staff, residents, and visitors, providing clear communication and customer service while documenting observations and responding to concerns. You will be part of a caring team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and driven by integrity.
Requirements
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, entrances, common spaces, and the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
- Monitor access points and visitor flow, help to maintain orderly movement through the facility, and report unusual activity according to post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and contacting onsite leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
- Complete routine reports and logs, document incidents, and communicate key information to Allied Universal management and site contacts.
