About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Intake Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a government location, you will help manage entry and exit activity, monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and support a professional, welcoming environment through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control protocols, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a government location.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, verify credentials, manage visitor processing, and help to control authorized access for staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations according to site policies.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting unusual activity and documenting security-related concerns and/or maintenance issues.
  • Support daily operations by communicating with site personnel, following post orders, and completing required logs, reports, and other documentation.
