Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Gate Monitor in Savannah, GA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points by verifying credentials, issuing badges, and tracking visitors and contractors. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols of assigned areas as needed, and document security-related activity with clear communication. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, you will deliver a people-first experience through teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A Guard Card and/or security license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification, authorizations, and visitor purpose; issue temporary badges and/or passes per site procedures.
  • Coordinate visitor, contractor, and delivery check-in and/or check-out, maintain logs, and communicate access approvals and/or denials to site contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and supporting site response actions.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, process areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
