Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Gate Driver in Lansing, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a healthcare location, you will greet staff and visitors, verify credentials, manage badge access, and maintain clear logs while watching for security-related concerns. You will complete routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce incidents, and provide professional customer service and communication at all times. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in line with Allied Universal driver policy requirements, supported by a caring, integrity-first team. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, issuing and collecting visitor credentials, managing sign-in and sign-out logs, and directing authorized persons to the proper location.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems; document unusual activity and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical facility protocols such as restricted area access and patient privacy considerations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
