Join Allied Universal at an education location as an Access Control Officer, greeting staff, students, and visitors while managing entry points, badges, and visitor logs. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with campus teams. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, students, parents, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, checking identification and/or credentials, and directing guests to the appropriate check-in process.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and visitor areas to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or policy violations, and maintain visitor logs, badges, and key control as required by location procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and urgent situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify school administration and/or emergency responders according to post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of hallways, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location.
  • Complete reports and documentation for security-related incidents, access denials, and unusual activity, and communicate observations to Allied Universal management and site contacts.
