Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control in Champaign, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet employees and drivers, manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, and monitor alarms and cameras. You will complete routine patrols and detailed reports, help to deter unauthorized access, and deliver clear communication with operations teams. Bring integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Control access at gates and/or entry points by checking identification, issuing badges, verifying appointments, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs in accordance with site requirements.
• Monitor inbound and outbound vehicle and pedestrian traffic, including coordinating with dispatch and dock personnel to help maintain authorized access to yards, trailers, and shipping and receiving areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing required reports and communicating updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, staging areas, and the perimeter to help identify unauthorized access, damaged fencing, and/or policy concerns.
